§282 Burial of Confederate veterans
Persons dying in the District of Columbia or in the
immediate vicinity thereof who have served in the Confederate armies during the
Civil War may be buried in the Confederate section of the Arlington National
Cemetery without additional expense to the United States upon the certificate
of Camp Numbered 171, United Confederate Veterans of the District of Columbia,
that such persons are entitled to burial under the authority given in this
section: Provided, That all such interments shall be under the
supervision and subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Army.
